The Winemaker range showcases elements other than pure fruit, crafted with texture, complexity and ageworthiness in mind. These wines of tiny production are made from low-cropping single vineyards with a focus on organic viticulture and are vinified using traditional methods. Grown at Wrekin Vineyard in Marlborough's Southern Valleys, this fruit provides a lot of the structure to the larger Astrolabe Province blend, giving the darkest cherry and plum flavours and the muscular structure and tannin. Astrolabe have chosen to release this small production wine to highlight the individual expression of this site. Full, smooth, dark and brooding, with nutty, brambly fruit notes, mouth-filling tannins and a lingering finish.
