Astrolabe Marlborough Pinot Gris is a nod towards some of the more aromatic, finer examples of northern Italian, higher altitude Pinot Grigio as well as referencing a little the wines of Alsace, but it's pretty much a Kiwi style - a Marlborough style. Pear, quince and peach flavours dominate. An aromatic, crisp and precise wine, and stylistically dryer than most. A beautiful food wine that pairs with a wide range of food.

Astrolabe's Marlborough Rosé is a blend from across multiple Marlborough sub-regions. It's pretty pale peach blush colour comes from minimised skin contact. On the nose you'll find apricot, peach and orange blossom. The palate is fresh and dry with bright red apple, red current and rose petal. A stylish, fresh and dry-style Rosé that is excellent as an aperitif or matched with prosciutto wraped melon, buttermilk-fried cauliflower, and delicate fish with sea salt.

In the Province range, Astrolabe emphasises the varietal intensity created by Marlborough's leafy vineyards, ripe fruit and cool-climate winegrowing conditions. Astrolabe Chardonnay combines elegant texture with a tight structure. The natural stonefruit and citrus flavours are complemented by aromatic complexity and texture creating an elegant, dry and mouth-filling wine. Stone fruit, vanilla creaminess, toasty oak, pleasing weight and a long, dry and mineral finish. This wine presents with ripe green flavours like passionfruit, blackcurrant leaf and gooseberry. In the palate, it is full and round and finishes dry and lingering. A drier style of Sauvignon Blanc, acidity kept nicely in balance with the alcohol and the very little residual sugar that is there, so it's all about how all these things come together to make a pleasurable whole. Specially selected from two estate-owned Hawke's Bay vineyards, this unoaked Chardonnay offers a creamy palate with melon and peach flavours, without the intrusion of oak. It has a clean, dry finish.

Babich are one of the longest running producers of Pinot Gris in New Zealand. The wine is Alsace in style, partly barrel-fermented, with mouthfilling body and strong stone-fruit, pear and spice flavours. It is made medium-dry, and is deliciously harmonious, with a rich, well-rounded finish.

This little Rosé has aromas of strawberry and rock melon with spice and stone fruits. Strawberry again on entry with raspberry and apple. Soft and nicely structure with mouth-watering, tangy red fruits. Lively and balanced - dry finish.

Joe Babich favours 'a fuller, riper, softer style of Sauvignon Blanc'. It's not a jump out of the glass style, but the wines develop well. The latest releases reflect a rising input of grapes from the company's Cowslip Valley vineyard in the Waihopai Valley, which gives less herbaceous fruit characters that it's other Marlborough vineyards. This smooth wine features strong, ripe flavours of melons and limes, moderate acidity and a rounded, rich finish - great drinkability and well regarded all over the world.
